Field Visibility

Field visibility lets admins hide specific fields from certain roles. For example, you might want to hide deal values from the User role, or hide custom financial fields from Managers.

  • By default, all fields are visible to all roles
  • Admins can restrict visibility per field and per role
  • Hidden fields don’t appear in:
    • List views
    • Detail pages
    • Filters
    • CSV exports

Field visibility is configured in Settings for contacts, companies, and deals. The interface shows a matrix of fields (rows) and roles (columns) with toggles to show or hide each combination.

  • Field visibility affects both standard and custom fields
  • Even when a field is hidden from a role, the data still exists — it’s just not shown in the UI
  • API access follows the same visibility rules
